Some of our clients ask ‘What’s the difference between consulting and coaching?’
Well, in simple terms, coaching tends to be more ‘asking’ and consulting tends to be more ‘advising’.
The reality is that clients who already have businesses often understand the benefit of bringing in a ‘management consultant’ or ‘business consultant’, but may see a ‘coach’ as a bit ‘woo woo’.
The fact is that we always ask clients questions. With coaching we may often allow the client to form their own conclusions from the questions.
With consulting, there is often an expectation of ‘Please tell us what we should be doing about this or that problem!’
